WELCOME ABOARD!
This project was inspired by a trip to a local reptarium/aquarium in my area. While the branding is fictional, I had so much fun creating this little world from scratch. It really brought out the first-grade, inner child in me that wanted to become a marine biologist.
The loose, abstract, hand drawn elements with a child-like quality speak to the reptarium and aquarium's main target audience: kids and families. The goal of the business being education, conservation, and entertainment for all ages. I went with organic shapes to compliment the nature conservation theme.
VISUAL LANGUAGE
The video showcases different use cases of the motion visual language. The final motion design text is meant to be fun as well as legible with smooth y-axis directional transitions.
A challenge was adding secondary motion to the hand drawn assets without it taking too much attention away from the message. To negate this, I limited the number of secondary elements included in each frame rather than crowding. An intentional usage of the hand drawn elements was vital here.
